By investing 2 million EUR, a new concept space – a food hall – to be created in Riga, in s/c “Galerija Centrs”. The food hall concept, created by masterminds of hospitality and interior design in Latvia, will be a new and exciting taste journey to modern foodies and taste enthusiasts.

The unique concept food hall is implemented by the real estate fund “Baltic Horizon Fund”. and will open the doors in the beginning of 2023.

The concept is being developed, leased and managed by the real estate management and consultancy company CBRE Baltics. The concept will open the doors in the beginning of 2023.

“In 2023 “Galerija Centrs” will become a home for new and exciting space – the food hall – that will provide a new concept dining and entertainment experience for both Riga residents and guests. The food hall will bring together more than 10 authentic and modern local cafes, restaurants and bars under one unified interior design and hospitality concept. With an area of more than 1500 square meters, the food hall will be located on the 4th floor of “Galerija Centrs”, becoming the largest destination of the shopping center,” said by the Shopping Center Manager of “Galerija Centrs” Sanita Krīgere.

The food hall’s interior concept and branding is developed by “Kirson Design Group” in unique cooperation between leading bar and restaurant consultants, hospitality experts and designers.

“What the visitors will appreciate will be the authentic and stylish interior of the food hall, which will not leave anyone indifferent. This space is created for people to get a taste of adventure and relaxation at the same time. The finishing elements, contrasting saturated tones in furniture and arrangement in general, will create a moment with surprise and visual excitement for the visitor,” said by the interior designer Evija Ķirsone-Slavinska, “Kirson Design Group”.

Divided in special zones for Grab&Go and Rest&Taste the food hall will be a place for both early and late breakfasts, tasty lunches, quick afternoon snacks, slow dinners and leisurely evening drinks.

About Galerija Centrs

As a block of Old Town, the 5-floor property complex consists of two buildings connected with a passage of glass roofed arcade. Originally opened as Army Department Store in 1938, the high street retail centre was last refurbished in 2006 with an added extension. The net leasable area of the property is 20,073 m2. The anchor tenants include H&M, RIMI, Massimo Dutti, Douglas, Lindex, Esprit, Gant, Marc O’Polo, Max Mara Weekend and others. The Galerija Centrs shopping centre was acquired by Baltic Horizon Fund in 2019.

The owner of the centre is Baltic Horizon Fund, a registered contractual public closed-end real estate fund managed by the alternative management company Northern Horizon Capital AS. The fund is listed on the Nasdaq Tallinn and Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchanges.

In total, the Baltic Horizon Fund’s portfolio consists of 15 real estate properties in the capitals of the Baltic States, covering an area of more than 144 thousand sq. m. The total value of the fund’s asset portfolio exceeds EUR 335 million.

In Riga, Latvia, the fund owns the Galerija shopping centre, as well as the Vainodes 1 office complex, and the LNK Centre and Upmalas Biroji office complexes.
